Camerata Salzburg! Hit the right note is paramount for any speaker � for musicians information technology is existential. The art, the challenge, the essence are to be plant beyond interpreting the ��visible��, what is in the score. This is where the reality of music begins. Information technology was this guiding principle which the legendary violinist Sándor V�gh gave to the ensemble, originally founded in 1952 by Bernhard Paumgartner, and which shaped the Camerata�due south stylistic identity from 1978 until V�gh�s death in 1997. Roger Norrington, who will stay in close contact with the orchestra as ��Conductor Laureate��, Leonidas Kavakos was Artistic Director from 2007 to 2009. From the season 2011/12 Louis Langr�e has been appointed Chief conductor of the Camerata Salzburg.

Over threescore years of orchestra history have matured the Camerata into a tradition-filled chamber orchestra. Yet it consists of young, motivated musicians who, according to the Swiss Neue Z�rcher Zeitung, ��play with a commitment and a joy in music-making which is infectious���.

The Camerata Salzburg is exceptional � musically, socially and organisationally. The ensemble is a mirror prototype of the international world through which it travels. Its over 20 nationalities reverberate various their cultures, but all are united by the universal language of music. This is underscored past a considerable achievement: the 80 plus concerts which they play each yr are nearly all privately financed � a rarity in Europe.

Pinchas Zukerman | Conductor, Viola, Violin has remained a phenomenon in the world of music for over four decades. His musical genius, prodigious technique and unwavering artistic standards are a curiosity to audiences and critics. Devoted to the next generation of musicians, he has inspired younger artists with his magnetism and passion. His enthusiasm for pedagogy has resulted in innovative programs in London, New York, Communist china, Israel and Ottawa. The name Pinchas Zukerman is every bit respected as violinist, violist, conductor, pedagogue and chamber musician.

Pinchas Zukerman's 2012/2013 season includes over 100 worldwide performances, bringing him to multiple destinations in North America, Europe and Asia. Mr. Zukerman is currently in his 14th flavour as Music Director of the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Ottawa.  In his fourth season as Principal Guest Conductor of the Imperial Philharmonic Orchestra in London, he leads the ensemble in concerts in Switzerland, Russia and the Britain.

Over the last decade, Pinchas Zukerman has become equally equally regarded a usher as he is an instrumentalist, leading many of the world'south summit ensembles in a broad diversity of the orchestral repertoire'southward about demanding works.  A devoted and innovative pedagogue, Mr. Zukerman chairs the Pinchas Zukerman Performance Program at the Manhattan School of Music, where he has pioneered the use of distance-learning technology in the arts. In Canada, he has established the NAC Constitute for Orchestra Studies and the Summertime Music Institute encompassing the Immature Artists, Conductors and Composers Programs.

Born in Tel Aviv in 1948, Pinchas Zukerman came to America in 1962 where he studied at The Juilliard School with Ivan Galamian. He has been awarded the Medal of Arts, the Isaac Stern Award for Creative Excellence and was appointed as the Rolex Mentor and Prot�g� Arts Initiative's first instrumentalist mentor in the music subject area.  Pinchas Zukerman's extensive discography contains over 100 titles, and has earned him 21 Grammy nominations and two awards.


Youth sticks with some people... Zukerman seems the forever-immature virtuoso: expressively resourceful, infectiously musical, technically impeccable, effortless. As usual, it was a joy to be in his musical visitor.
